Time to focus · session 1
The Pomodoro Technique, quietly
Pomo Method is a free online Pomodoro timer built around one idea: start fast, stay focused, and let the timer disappear into the background. Set your focus and break lengths, press start, and the countdown runs right in your browser tab — with a gentle chime when each session ends. No sign-up, no clutter, no nagging. Just the Pomodoro Technique, done quietly.
The Pomodoro Technique is a time-management method created by Francesco Cirillo in the late 1980s. You break work into focused intervals — traditionally 25 minutes — separated by short breaks, with a longer break after every four. Cirillo named it after the tomato-shaped kitchen timer he used as a student (pomodoro is Italian for tomato).
The idea is simple, and it works: a ticking deadline makes a task easier to start, and regular breaks keep your attention fresh instead of grinding it down over a long, shapeless afternoon. One Pomodoro at a time, the work gets done.
The classic Pomodoro is 25 minutes, and that is the default. Change it any time in Settings to fit the work in front of you.
Hit Start (or tap the spacebar) and the countdown begins. It shows right in your browser tab, so you can switch away and still see the time ticking down.
Stay on one task until the gentle chime sounds. No notifications, no nagging — just one quiet signal that the session is done.
A short break starts next. Step away from the screen, stretch, breathe. The timer will let you know when it is time to go again.
After four focus sessions, Pomo Method gives you a longer break. Four pomodoros, one real rest — then start the cycle fresh.
The countdown runs in the tab title, so you can work in another tab and still glance at the time. It stays accurate even in the background.
A soft, warm tone marks the end of each session — and a tactile click when you start. Calm by design, with volume control if you want it quieter.
No account, no email, no paywall. Open the page and start focusing. That is the whole deal.
